During this time of year, sales come and go. There are sooo many you might feel like you're in a virtual sample sale, elbowing and shoving everybody to snag the best deals before they're out of stock. ( We're looking at you Amazon Prime Day, with your lighting deals). However, there are a few that span out perfectly giving you enough time to consider what you're adding to your cart. Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale is one of them. If you're a Nordstrom super fan, you already know that on July 12th their sale's early access started and you might've gotten a silver ticket to see and purchase hundreds of discounted goods.
Now, if you're a non-cardholder (like us!) you might have been making use of the wishlist option. But today your wishes become a reality because Nordstrom's anniversary sale opens to everyone with internet access today. And trust us, there are still plenty of fashion finds you want to add to your actual shopping cart. The best part? Some of the best fashion deals are under $50. That means you can snag a whole outfit for under $150. But shop fast, despite Nordstrom's Anniversary sale lasting until Aug 3rd, the best deals tend to go quick. So, put your cyber elbowing and shoving to use (read: clicking and scrolling) and make you snag everything you need before it's too late.
So, as to help you out, we've rounded up below the best under $50 fashion finds. From the perfect back-to-school outfit, cult-favorite leggings, and summer dresses, here's to great deals (and clothes).

Fionnuala and Michael’s wedding was a celebration of South African and Irish heritage. Despite the Beast from the East (remember that?!) sadly grounding a lot of the Irish contingent travelling over for the day, they had a beautiful and relaxed festival-inspired wedding.

Describing their day as “Bohemian meets Bushveld“, Fionnuala and Michael wanted to give their Irish guests a taste of true South African hospitality. They held their ceremony and reception at the Intundla Game Lodge. Their ceremony was under a beautiful structure with streaming floral garlands and ribbons to protect them from the South African sun in the most beautifully bohemian way possible.

“We had an outdoor humanist ceremony which isn’t that common in Ireland with the unpredictable weather – although it could have been pouring down and I don’t think we would have noticed!” they said. “It was just wonderful, we really felt like it was just the two of us and Vim conducting getting us to repeat our vows. A couple of times I became aware of our guests as they were all crying in the front row which was actually really amusing and a lizard chilled on Fionnuala’s dress for a while but thankfully she didn’t notice until it had moved away!”

Clearly the lizard had great taste, as Fionnuala wore Eliza Jane Howell‘s Daisy gown with gorgeous embellished detail and grey beaded shoulders. Michael’s Dee Graham suit was made of a delicious damask pattern and their bridesmaids – last minute emergency bridesmaids who stepped up to fill the boots of some very disappointed nieces in Ireland – wore beautiful grey Boohoo dresses.

After the I dos, they celebrated with drinks and Skyping family back home before moving inside for the reception, into a beautiful open-windowed room decorated with draping and more hanging flowers.

And after the meal, the party properly began. They recall: “As Fionnuala rushed out without her veil, a friend brought it in a bag in case we wanted it for photos later… one of the male guests (who let’s say was very merry) found it later in the bag and decided to wear it on the dance floor. Everyone latched onto it forming a human train with Fionnuala holding the veil like a bridesmaid; it was a hilarious sight.”

To stay in line with their casual, festival-influenced inspirations, Fionnuala and Michael finished off the night with a bonfire. Despite many of their family being half way across the world, it looks like an amazing day – congratulations guys!

Like many young girls in the late ’90s, I was obsessed with Bath and Body Works’ Art Stuff line, specifically the blueberry roll-on glitter. While I’m fairly certain the glitter was meant to be applied on the body, I liked to slather the twinkly formula all over my face. I’ve since toned down my everyday look, but I still can’t resist a good shimmer-flecked product.
A new favorite is the VDL Lumilayer Primer. It’s been a top-selling product in Korea for a while, but it just launched in the U.S. in the beginning of August. The formula is pearlescent and violet-tinged and designed to give you a luminescent glow, and to extend the wear of your makeup. The brand is calling it “the secret to glass skin”, the k-beauty trend of having a complexion that’s so glowy and even, it looks like glass.
I have dry skin, which means my complexion can often look dull and flat, despite a regimen of brightening serums and ultra-hydrating creams. After applying the primer all over my face, my skin looks instantly dewy – in a natural way (for a more intense glow, you can always add another layer). Because the formula is light-reflecting, I find that I don’t even need to wear my go-to highlighter because my cheekbones are already beaming.
The formula itself packs a punch, but feels lightweight. I find my foundation goes on smoother over top of it and that I don’t need as much coverage. I know I shouldn’t wear makeup to the gym, but on the occasions when I do, I know my makeup will still look nearly flawless even after a HIIT class with the primer on.
On low maintenance makeup days, I like to use it solely as a highlighter for a little complexion boost. I add quick swipes along the tops of cheek and brow bones, down the nose, and on the cupid’s bow.
Makeup artist Nam Vo, who is known for creating what she calls “dewy dumpling” looks, is also a major fan of the Lumilayer Primer. At a recent masterclass in New York City, allure.com reported that she applied the primer over the tops of a model’s cheekbones, layered liquid foundation over that and then went over the area with the primer again as a base for powder highlighter (which would pop even more thanks to Lumilayer). The results (pictured above) were out of this world.

Whether you’re smooth as melted ghee or the most awkward human alive we all have one thing in common: we all cringe at the thought of confrontation. You don’t fire someone: you let them go. You don’t dump someone: you ‘mutually’ separate. You don’t reject a date: you tell them you had a great time but unfortunately you’re busy next weekend.
Unless you’re a low-key sadist you don’t like telling people they suck. Especially in person. Which means that the whole “thanks but no thanks” interaction is a zone of social psychology ripe for the plucking. Which may explain why one woman’s simple story, told on Reddit, has gained so much interest. What’s it like to reject someone in person? Wonder no more.
I rejected somebody in person last night from TwoXChromosomes
The story begins with a situation we all know: you go on a date and before Bumblewoman (or Tinderman) opens their mouth you already know they aren’t for you. A sixth sense, subconscious bias, a set of functioning eyes: call it what you will—you know it ain’t going to happen.
Normal protocol would be to see out the next forty minutes, decline their suggestion to try out the bar down the road, ignore their Facebook friend request and hope they get the hint. But what if there was another way?
Reddit user r/TwoXChromosomes proves that indeed there is, and judging on the response from the Reddit commentariat—which is known for being male-centric and unforgiving—harsh rejection could actually be best for both parties involved.
“I came back to the table, and he asked me where I would like to go next. I thought about it for a moment and said, ‘honestly I don’t feel any chemistry here, and I don’t want to waste any more of your time. If you want me to pay for my ice cream, I’m more than willing to do that.’ He was taken aback but respectful.”
The general consensus among the commenters was that you should never date someone out of kindness, with the most up-voted opinion being, “Honestly if he was any sort of decent guy he probably appreciated that too – imagine sinking 3 weeks of dating into someone just to find out they were never really into you.”
“Imagine being in a relationship for 3 years where you hear your ex actually didn’t see a future after 6 months.”
This was followed up with the following:
');document.write('');elsedocument.write('');Other users warned that rejecting someone in person isn’t always this easy, “One time I had a guy at a bar who was clearly interested in me and when I politely told him I wasn’t interested, he just dug his heels and then got really nasty with me.”
So although you should rethink the amount of time you sink getting to know someone you don’t like — don’t write off the rejection text completely.

Ready for something to get your pulse raising? Oh, we have a feeling this colorful + ‘shocking’ backdrop Kira + Dima came up with will do the trick! Mixing in red and blue hues with the idea of a heart rhythm, along with shimmering lights, this is one of the coolest backdrops we’ve ever seen!
Kira tells us: When we were planning, we decided we wanted to have a family party with a warm atmosphere at a country club near Moscow. The place was cozy and surrounded by nature, so it was perfect! Our planner, Feerique Event & Emotions, posed the idea of creating a heart rhythm, as we will be one after our wedding. We liked the idea so much and it became the most interactive part of the wedding and we incorporated it throughout!
Let’s wander through the photos snapped by Nadia Pro + see how they incorporated their love into the big day!

Surrounded by nature was right!

Can you imagine walking around these grounds with your partner the morning of your wedding? What a wonderful way to start off the day!

All the floral appliqués and the soft blush hue on her gown adds such a pretty pop, don’t you think?

Does this remind anyone else of a Taylor Swift music video in the best way possible? DREAMY!

YES!! From the string lights to the woods and the MAJOR pop of color, we adore this!

Who’s up for a DIY?

K+D tell us: The background was made with cylindrical plastic polycarbonate pipe, and we included the gradient-colored backdrop with lights, so it would sparkle throughout the night.

Seriously, SO COOL! And it makes the best backdrop for portraits with the wedding party.

And, of course, the pup had to be involved!

For an added touch of blue + red, these two donned velvet kicks.

Do not hesitate to be yourself on your wedding—try to find those vendors that will fit you not only like professionals but as friends. Any idea can be made, just need some creative minds to bring it to life!

And they brought the heart rhythm in for the seating chart—so cool!!

Blue, red, and purple water in the vases with colorful pressed glass to line the table. The way these incorporated the color scheme is so elegant, right?

Cheers to the two of you! We love the ‘shocking’ elements of your big day. ![]()

Lady Gaga posted a series of pictures of herself wearing an Iris van Herpen Fall 2018 Haute Couture transparent blue organza dress on her Instagram account, while still promoting her latest film, ‘A Star Is Born’ during Toronto International Film Festival.
This is not the first time the singer/actress has worn the designer, but on this occasion she didn’t look like she had come from outer space to take over the universe.
I love how Lady Gaga makes the diaphanous, fluid form of the silhouette come to life.
Some might say she looks like Elsa from ‘Frozen,’ but to me, she looks more like a beautiful goddess.
A grey Wolford ‘Fatal’ dress was worn under the gorgeous Couture creation.

Music fans were on high alert when Solange Knowles tweeted earlier this week that she could be found on the social media platform Black Planet. There, they found new images and videos that hinted the singer was about to drop a new album. Well, When I Get Home is officially here, and fans can’t handle how good it is.
In the hours since the album's release, fans have been tweeting about enjoying every aspect of the album, from her cowgirl aesthetic to its production. And it looks like a lot of them are planning on just listening to the album for the rest of the day. "Solange’s album...... talent won," one fan wrote. Another added, "Solange is really out here consistent and brilliant AF."
Solange’s last album, back in 2016, was A Seat at the Table and it was all about celebrating Black culture and healing. Fans seem to love her follow-up on those topics with When I Get Home. As one fan put it, "Now, I know it just came out so I don’t really want to compare but if 'A Seat at the Table' is Solange reminding us that black is beautiful and black women are God body. Then 'When I Get Home' is ‘Yeah I’m black, b*tch. Problem?'"
On February 28, Solange responded to all the fan excitement over her new music, tweeting, “Y’all! I’m filled w so much joy right now!!! Wow! I can’t thank y’all enough for this moment and for all the feelings i feel in my body! I’m bringing home w me everywhere I go yalll and I ain’t running from sh*t no more. Your love lifts me up so high. Thank you!”
When I Get Home includes collaborations with Tyler the Creator, Gucci Mane, Playboi Carti, Dev Hynes, Cassie, Pharrell, and more. Back in 2018, Solange teased which kinds of genres would be part of the album in an interview in T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
“There is a lot of jazz at the core,” she told T. “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.” She also gave a hint to the title of the upcoming album by talking about what home is to her. “My mother [Tina Knowles Lawson], my sister [Beyoncé], Kelly [Rowland], and Angie [Beyince, her cousin],” she said. “That’s just where I feel safest. It’s what feels like home. It’s what feels inspiring.”

Some things are just meant to go together. Following in the footsteps of great collabs that have included Zayn Malik and long albums and BTS and Dolly Parton, comes Ariana Grande and Starbucks.
The singer — who isn't shy about sharing a selfie with her fave Starbucks beverage — alluded to something major arriving to the coffee chain that involves her. In a tweet on March 4, she wrote, "☕️☁️.... @starbucks 3/5." Starbucks also shared a hint, tweeting a similar message that read, "☁️☕️☁️... ."And thus, a possibly caffeinated mystery was born.
The potential partnership remains a mystery for now, but social media has already started guessing. Teen Vogue's very own Gabe Bergado suggested a potential new meaning to the Grande size, while another fan suggested that perhaps Ariana would take a cue from Lady Gaga and become a temporary barista.
Other theories include a drink named for the singer, "a new song with Starbucks," and a cloud-shaped treat.
Although it hasn't been confirmed, some users also shared that two new cloud themed drinks are coming to the coffee chain. "For everyone asking about @ArianaGrande and @Starbucks tweet.. the new caramel cloud and cinnamon lemon cloud macchiatos come tomorrow," one person tweeted. "They can be made iced or hot but I prefer em hot."
While we continue to await more cloudy clues, Starbucks has turned their Instagram into a series of mysterious posts. So far, they've shared a crumbling cloud, a cloud dissolving in water, and a cloud being cut. And while we can't be certain of anything involving Ari and the chain until it's been confirmed, the pop star does love her clouds. In addition to a cloud tattoo, she also named a perfume in honor of the shape.
